One Dress for a Year: The Wardrobe Project

Have you heard about the Uniform Project? It’s an Indian woman in New York who is wearing one dress, a plain black dress, everyday with different accessories for 365 days. That’s right- she’s taking the little black dress to an entirely new level. I’m not entirely sure that I could even come up with anything that I’d put on 365 days a year. 0d59de78-0147-4a38-b5fb-b9db1017839a_May_01_v1_D

Can you imagine wearing one thing for a year? I’ve been mentally going through my wardrobe trying to come up with a single item I like enough to wear every day and all I can come up with is a pashmina scarf. I could definitely wear one of those everyday, but I don’t think that would count as a core wardrobe staple. It’s not like you can leave the house wearing just a pashmina… Or could you? Yeah, not even the internet could find a soul brave enough to try the pashmina as a dress look.

In any case, in honor of the Uniform Project, I am wearing my newish black Theory shift dress tomorrow along with my fabulous red shoes that I have to remember to wear more often.

This is my favorite look of the daily pictures so far, I love the old fashioned collar along with the modern dress and the detail out the bottom of the dress. Truly great. The collar is from EJ Starbuck from Eyelashers ,which I just discovered and is a great fashion/green blog.  I love the artsy fashion pictures.
