A couple of years ago I saw the Devil Wears Prada and fell in love with the illusion of Anna Wintour. Oh no wait, we were never told that it was Anna who was the “devil” herself, were we? Anyways, I fell in love with the “devil”-ish Editor-In-Chief and have been enthralled with the inner workings of magazines ever since. While I am not a huge fan of Vogue in terms of being a subscriber or actually purchasing the magazine (Very little actual content, beautiful and artsy albeit unrealistic fashion spreads and way too many advertisements for my taste) I love the allure that Vogue brings to the table, and heed it’s fashion dictates as being the fashion rules I should take note of.
There is also no better time to take note of fashion rules than the September issue of Vogue- the 4 pound bible of what to wear, where to wear it and what to buy to make everyone else jealous wear. I look for it starting in mid-July and get a thrill rush unlike many other when I actually see it on the shelves in early August.
That being said, there’s really no surprise that I’m ecstatic and super-excited to see “The September Issue”, which goes behind-the-scenes at Vogue in preparation for the (C’mon, guess) September issue. Check out the trailer if you’ve not heard of it- my only qualm is that the release date for the movie is sooo far away and will be after the issue is actually out- August 28th!
