Rainy Season = New Jimmy Choos

I love fall, as you all know, but what I don’t love is pulling my rainboots out of the closet and realizing that my boots do not have the same allure as they had last year isn’t the most fun. This year, my rainboots had split down the backs- I realized this today as I was running in the rain to the bus stop like a mad person… and had to turn around.

So rather than continuously buying $20 or $30 rainboots every year, wouldn’t it make sense to buy one good pair that would last for 5-10 years? I thought so too.

This is when I remembered the boots I had been dreaming about-seriously, I dreamt I was on an African safari in these boots- and decided I should put it to my blog readers. Alas, let me introduce the Hunter for Jimmy Choo rainboot.

Although it’s been sold out for months at my local stores, I am committed to finding a pair for less than the $500+ they’re going for on eBay. Any ideas? I think these boots would look stylish with almost anything, and they’ll essentially be a collector’s item, no?

I decided I should also look at some alternatives… Like the stylish Ilse Jacobsen boots I’ve eyed on a few ladies in Vancouver, where I know they are for sale for $200.  I love the tie-up laces on the front of the boots, although they wouldn’t really be all that practical to wear around with a dress or with a suit for work.

I also could just go for a regular pair of Hunters- but for $120, I’d rather have the Jimmy Choo edition. There’s also a cute Special Edition pair from Fortnum and Mason, but I’m not sure I want turquoise boots for my everyday life.
