I get invites all the time to “exclusive online invitation only sale events”, and usually find myself having to unsubscribe after a few days because I’m being blasted with e-mail upon e-mail letting me know that there is 8 hours left, then 7 hours left then 6 hours left, then 2 pairs of shoes left… So I am overall hesitant to sign up to any of them with my “real” e-mail addresses (I have an e-mail address that doesn’t route directly to my Blackberry, and I only check it when I get home at night, or when I have time… It’s what I sign up for most things with to not get the “ding” of a Blackberry e-mail arriving every 4-5 minutes)
In any case, I was given the info for Shop It To Me from my friend Clinton and signed up to see what this site did. After entering my favorite brands, the departments I would be interested in shopping and my approximate size, I now get a short and sweet little e-mail every morning with items fitting my cirteria from a whole variety of online shops/sales/sites. For example, today I got sale items in my size from ShopBop, the outnet and Bluefly for Chloé, 7 for All Mankind, Nanette Lepore, Marc Jacobs, Chanel and DVF. This means I don’t have to go to all these sites to see what’s on sale, this little e-mail tells me what’s on sale, in my size at a whole bunch of sites. Love it!
