It was my birthday last week, and I was lucky enough to have received a Sephora giftcard- perfect timing considering I was running out of my regular perfume supply and was dying to try something new. I headed into Sephora last week with my friend Lisa, where we immediately went to the perfume wall and tried to decide which one was really me. Ironically, we walked out of the store with a bottle of body moisturizer that I had thought was perfume (Heat of the moment) and Lisa earned a life point, in having a man smell her jacket which she had sprayed with the worst smelling perfume of all time, Thunderstorm by Demeter. It smelled like her jacket had been thrown in the mud and then had gotten moldy. Should we maybe have read the reviews that said it smelled like wet leaves? Maybe. But in any case, it was terrible. However, a man smelled her arm in an elevator, which we immediately declared to be a life point, so it wasn’t all for naught.
Back to the original story… I had originally bought Prada’s Infusion d’Iris in the body moisturizer, and although I love the smell- I couldn’t handle a body moisturizer and the perfume was double the price of the other ones (This should have been my clue.) So I went to the Sephora near my house this weekend and was immediately interested in the Salesgirl telling someone else about the “limited supply, since it always sells out” scent. I needed to smell it! I needed it! It was Marc Jacobs Splash in Rain- which I LOVED the smell of. Like loved, more than my old perfume standby of Ralph Lauren Romance. I bought the gigantic bottle for the same price as the teeny Prada moisturizer and have been obsessing over it for the last couple of days.
The smell is so sophisticated, and unique. Apparently it’s a very hot seller at Sephora, and the stores can’t keep it on their shelves. I feel like such a beauty insider (Little Sephora joke there, did ya get it?) and I am pretty sure the jumbo bottle will last me for years to come. Super happy with it- and since you are all aware of my well-documented love for Marc Jacobs, it isn’t even the least bit surprising! I’m even going to go so far as to call it my new primary/everyday signature scent. My special occasion signature scent remains the same… Annick Goutal’s Petite Cherie.

I absolutely adore the title of it – Marc Jacobs Splash in Rain. It possesses such a whimsical ring to it. I may need to look into snagging a bottle myself!
I’ve been obsessing over this brand for years- which Sephora did you get it at? I’ve been trying so hard to snag a bottle and it’s always sold out.
